I received my degree in secondary education from the College of Education at Michigan State University. My major for the college of education was Biological Science and my minors were Chemistry and Integrated Studies in Science. My first degree from Michigan State University was in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology, which was obtained in the Spring of 2006.
I love my career in education! My interest in education stemmed from another interest, which is color guard. I realized that I had a passion for teaching after I taught color guard for a few years at East Lansing and Troy High School.
During my undergrad years, I worked in a plant biochemistry lab at Michigan State University. The lab that I worked in is located in the Plant Biology building at MSU. While I was there, I became a published author in the December 2007 edition of the journal "Plant Cell".
Besides being very interested in science education, I also work with performing arts groups. Currently, I work with Armada High School's color guard as their coach and Armada High School's drama department as their choreographer for their musicals. The most recent musical I have choreographed for is "Oklahoma!".
Some of my hobbies are traveling, hanging out with my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, redecorating my house, and doing crafts from Pinterest.
My mottos are : "Never say never." "You can always make a difference!"
